VENUE INFORMATION

Whistler

Whistler square Whistler is located
about 1.5 hours
drive north of
Vancouver.
One of the best
ski resorts in
North America,
in the summer
it becomes a
center of hiking,
mountain biking,
and other alpine
activities.

The village of Whistler is a lovely village with many pedestrian-only
streets. It has a complete range of restaurants for all budgets, from
informal snack bars to chain restaurants to four-star dining lounges.

Workshop Hotel

Coast hotel front entrance We are fortunate to
have obtained a very
reasonable rate (about
$50/night/person for
double occupancy) at the
Coast Whistler hotel,
just beside pedestrian
zone. A block of rooms
has been reserved for
conference attendees, and several meeting rooms
will be used for the workshop activities in the June 5-10 period.

Participants must stay at the conference hotel so that the meeting
can take advantage of the $53/person/night (all taxes included) double occupancy rate of the Coast's excellent Standard Rooms. Participants may choose to stay alone by paying both shares of a room; participants electing to stay at the double occupancy rate can have roomates arranged by the conference organisors. Participants will stay in the Whistler Coast from Sunday afternoon June 5 through Saturday morning June 11.

Note that the night of Saturday night June 4th participants will stay in a hotel in Vancouver after arriving on their flights. Details on this hotel will be provided to confirmed participants in March.
